Latest Updates from Our Project:

Our New Horror RPG Is Live — Lies By Omission Awaits
6 months ago – Tue, Oct 14, 2025 at 07:01:04 AM

Hey everyone,

We’re thrilled to announce that our newest project, Lies By Omission, is now live on Gamefound!

If you’ve enjoyed our past games, tarot decks, or darkly beautiful experiments, this one ties them all together.
Lies By Omission is a narrative-driven horror RPG that replaces dice with tarot cards—inviting players to investigate, manipulate, and uncover the truth before it’s buried forever.

It’s light on rules, heavy on dread, and designed for small, story-focused groups.

We’d love to have you with us again as we pull back the curtain and reveal what’s been hidden.

🔮 They’ve buried the truth. Let’s unearth it together.

Beneath the ferry-slick rocks and chapel ruins of Isola Mezzogiallo, something is waiting. And now, so are we.

The Gamefound preview page for Lies By Omission is live. Right now, all I need from you is a click- a quiet act of faith that costs nothing, but carries weight.

When you click Follow on the preview page, it helps unlock more visibility for the campaign. Gamefound grants ad budget milestones based on follower count, so every click means this strange, haunting story will reach further.

📍 No purchase. No pledge. Just a click.
And in return, you’ll receive a free exclusive tarot card when the campaign launches. A gift for those who looked too closely.

The island is watching. Thank you for stepping onto its shore.

Coming to a Close
over 2 years ago – Mon, Nov 27, 2023 at 10:00:14 AM

What a wild ride. This unexpectedly became my highest funding crowdfunding project and the final book is something that I will forever be proud of. Thank you all for that.

I ended up delivering two months late, which is not ideal, but I promise you none of the delays were on my side. But by now you should all have a tracking number generated by World of Game Design. If not, please let me know and I'll check in with them regarding the status of your shipment.

What I learned

I did learn a few things. I should triple my production timeline estimate. I guessed it'd take one month to produce when it ended up taking over two months. I should also stop trying to assemble things myself. My collector's editions should be assembled in China by the same manufacturers making the individual items, that way the whole shebang can go to the ultimate distribution hub. That would have shaved around two weeks off the timeline (although I won't be able to offer any signed items).

DriveThruRPG

I recently put the digital version of the module and character sheet up on DriveThruRPG. I've never used the platform before, but we'll see how it goes. I don't think you can review it unless you buy it from them, but if you have an account at least post your thoughts on the Discussion session to help drive traffic to the listing. I would appreciate that.

My Podcast

I'm deep in a new podcast of mine, called Art for Profit's Sake. I've had conversations with other RPG designers and artists, such as Zach Goins, John Baltisberger, Seven, and Billy Blue. Please subscribe on Spotify or listen to episodes! Once I get 100 active listeners, I can start making money with ads. www.artforprofitssake.com. I'm very proud of it and I have learned a lot since I started. I have hosted dozens of conversations with artists about how they run their small businesses.

My Next Project

If you saw my recent RPG Lies By Omission, then you're aware that I'm working on a new project inspired by Italian Gothic Horror films from the 60's and 70s (known as Giallo or Gialli films). The system I've designed uses tarot cards instead of dice to decide success or failure.

At this point, I've got a beta version of the core rulebook available for free on my website. I'm about 70% done with writing the first campaign setting, "Il Giallo Lacrimoso," and I'm just getting started on a  custom Tarot deck. I hope to run a crowdfunding campaign for a print of the core rulebook, campaign setting, and tarot deck all in one. It's very barebones now, but you can sign up for notifications on my BackerKit Launch Page.

Some of the completed tarot cards can be seen below, to hopefully give you a sense of the world-building present in this trifecta of products.

Shipping Update!
over 2 years ago – Sat, Nov 11, 2023 at 04:55:48 PM

Hey Folks,

Zac here from World of Game Design. Just a quick notice to let you know that the majority of the packages went out this week, and the rest of the survey-complete orders will go out next week.

A final wave of shipping will go out in December for any late backers. If you fill out your survey after that wave goes out, you will need to message Nick directly and let him know. We will not be checking Backerkit for completed surveys after that December wave.

That's only a risk for the 13 of you who have not yet completed the survey.

Please allow up to 3 weeks for product to arrive on your doorstep. Hopefully it goes a lot quicker than that, but with the holiday season upon us, it might take some extra time.

Thanks again for supporting Nick and the wider Mork Borg community!

#16: Freight has been forwarded!!
over 2 years ago – Fri, Oct 20, 2023 at 09:48:04 AM

Forward Air just picked up the palette and it's now on its way to World of Game Design's Distribution center in Indiana. If you'd like, you can track the truck here: https://www.forwardair.com/tracking?numbers=86643741

It has an ETA of Oct. 26th, at which point it will take a few days before the final fulfillment can begin, but it looks like these will arrive to you throughout November.

Thank you so much for your patience through all of this. I'm sorry my estimate of August didn't happen, but I promise you it will be worth it.
